#Excision Biopsy Procedure LESION Location: Dimensions (mm): Pre-excision diagnosis: Features: (-) pain, (-) bleeding, (-) irritation, (-) infection, (-) diagnostic. INFORMED CONSENT Procedure, alternate treatment options, risks, and benefits were thoroughly explained to the patient and informed consent was obtained before the procedure started. PROCEDURE Area prepped and draped. Local anaesthesia: Lidocaine ?% with??without adrenaline, ?mL. Incision: elliptical, ? mm x ? mm to fat. Lesion margins: ? mm. Haemostasis: (+) pressure, (-) electrocautery, (-) silver nitrate. Estimated blood loss: less than 1 mL. Wound closure: 3/0 nylon monofilament, interrupted sutures x ?. Dressing: non-stick adhesive dressing applied. AFTERCARE Keep area clean and dry. Rest the area and avoid pressure or tension on the wound. Apply cold packs for 20 minutes at a time pain or swelling. Review for removal of sutures in ? days.
